While Three Sons was docked in Titusville, FL, we flew to Dallas to meet Jacob and Pepper Mae for Thanksgiving. Dallas was a 3 hour drive for Jacob and a direct flight for us so it seemed to be a easy place to meet. After lots of research, we chose to pick up a catered Thanksgiving dinner and eat in the hotel. Sloan’s Corner did a wonderful, delicious Thanksgiving Take Away with all the fixings and dessert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We spent 4 days in Dallas taking in all the sights. Thanksgiving morning, we were 4 of the 16,000 that participated in the YMCA Dallas 5K Turkey Trot. Cedar Ridge Trail and the Katy Trail were also explored to up our step count and work off the turkey and pie. We toured the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, a few dog parks, and a couple of breweries. Certainly missed being all together but so happy we got to spend Thanksgiving with Jacob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been trying to take on a minimalistic lifestyle. I think we understood the assignment. Tracy’s backpack for 4 days in Dallas. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Since 2012, a 30-foot Giant Eyeball has been a landmark. Why? The owner of the hotel across the street plopped it on this land to avoid a parking garage being built that he felt would be an eyesore. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\"\"
The actual Farmers Market was not open on the day we visited. It would have been something to see and enjoy. We did get to explore The Market Building and Lofts filled with a mixture of local specialty foods restaurants and artisanal food vendors all centered around the view of the Dallas skyline. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While visiting the Deep Ellum neighborhood, we popped into Westlake Brewery for lunch. Beer was ok, waiter cleared our glasses before were done but the conversation with the locals was quite enjoyable. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A little different but creative and fun. Thanksgiving in a hotel complete with a fitted sheet tablecloth and candle made from a dish towel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though we were not together, we shared our Turkey Day meals, Cory enjoyed this feast somewhere in the South Pacific.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Zachary was in Westport, where he prepared dinner for almost 500 folks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
