Our next planned stop was an anchorage outside of Little Farmer’s Cay. Taking advantage of the weather window, this stop allowed for a good travel day, a interesting, tiny place to explore and a convenient anchorage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We completely enjoyed our afternoon and evening at Little Farmer’s Cay. Little Farmer’s Cay is a small, population 55, Bahamian settlement with the friendliest folks. The few houses are small but colorful and the island has two restaurants and one tiny ‘variety store,’ and an air strip. We anchored outside of Ty’s Sunset Bar and Grill. We read so many conflicting reviews weather and when they were open. Once we dropped the hook and looked up, we saw they looked open. Happily, we dinghied over for a beer and some of the delicious Bahamian food we had read about. Inside was another cruising couple and the bar tender. “Longy.” Once we sat down, Longy came over and said, “No mail boat this week. No food!” We asked if they had beer and his smiled. After a wonderful chat with Longy learning about the island and their 5F event: February, First, Friday, Farmers, Festival. We ventured off to walk to the other restaurant, running across the air strip and down the one road that cuts across the tiny island. On the way, we ran into the other couple from the bar and they informed us the other restaurant had no food. They were sitting outside the variety store waiting for the only menu items, hot dogs and steak um sandwiches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we were waiting for our Steak Umm sandwiches, the ladies were trying to spiffy up the variety store for the upcoming 5F. However, they had no paint, so cardboard boxes were used.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
