In order to avoid snow and cold temperatures, we cruised the Bahamian Islands. We truly felt blessed for this opportunity of adventure, clear water, and warm temps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
We had a rough outline for travel but knowing anything can go wrong with weather and boat malfunctions, our goal was to cross the Atlantic safely. Once in the Bahamas, we would take it day by day and see where life took us. We spent 11 weeks touring the Bahamian Islands. Fortunately, we were able to hit a part of each island chain, enjoying the different cultures and landscapes. Along with enjoying so many sights and activities, we meet and enjoyed time with so many folks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our Trip Back to the States<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Our trip back was long but thank goodness uneventful. We left the dock at Old Bahama Bay Marina in Grand Bahama Island at 5:20AM on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. We inched out of our slip in the complete darkness with the help of a fellow boater who said he was awake when he heard our engines. The 85 Nautical Mile journey took 10.5 hours with a little extra help with our engines and the Gulf Stream. We checked back into the country remotely 8 miles off the coast and anchored inside the Fort Pierce Inlet after taking on some more diesel for the ride up north.<\/p>\n\n\n\nLeft in total darkness it was a little bumpy and we could not see the swells coming.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nExperienced a beautiful sunrise<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nCalm ocean for the rest of the day<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nProbably the first time in almost 900 miles the captain took a rest!
