Monday, April 1 -3, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a very relaxing night on anchor in Ft. Pierce we started back on the Great Loop Route. Our first stop on the East Coast was Melbourne, FL where we docked at Melbourne Harbor Marina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

An extremely calm cruise on a bright, sunny morning up the ICW from Ft Pierce to Melbourne FL. Felt weird to be back in the ICW instead of the open ocean.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We intended to spend two days in Melbourne to reprovision, receive a very large Amazon order and explore Historical Downtown Melbourne. Mother Nature had other plans. A storm was expected to roll in on our planned departure day, so we stayed an extra day to escape the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Downtown Melbourne is a cute, old town street with lots of shops, restaurants and a brewery!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our first brewery stop back in the states! Favorite: Mr. Rinks Porter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A new delicious treat!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

An old post office from the 1920’s to 50’s converted to a bar, Iron Oak Post is nice venue with great beer flavors.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We took a very long, 4.5 mile walk to Intracoastal Brewery to check it out. We did need to stop for coffee on the way and found a laid back, cool vibe coffee shop.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We acclimated back to states by wearing shoes, and doing lots of ‘adulting’ that was ignored in the Bahamas. Taxes, bill paying, organizing, restocking, shopping, purging and laundry was accomplished along with a lot of walking, eating and drinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We came back from the Bahamas with empty cupboards and freezer. Bahama prices are about double what thigs cost in the states: Iceberg Lettuce was $5.00 a head, beer $65.00 a case, a can of Rotel Tomatoes about $3.00. It was a nice to fill the cabinets back up and have it delivered to the boat!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
