Bob’s mother and sister were looking for an adventure and boating experience so we left Annapolis and took the 4 hour cruise over to Baltimore. Leaving our compact slip with extremely narrow fairways and tight turns in Annapolis was certainly an experience. Thankfully, the undocking and the 27 mile cruise up the Chesapeake were uneventful. Unfortunately, the weather was spots of sun in between rain drops, but luckily not windy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Fell’s Point is really part of greater Baltimore, which means for 2024, traversing the remains of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. This bridge was the site of the allision with the cargo ship, Dali. Our optimistic plans to visit Baltimore came together at the last possible minute as the crews refloated and moved the Dali on Monday, freeing the main channel for most commercial shipping, and more importantly for us, allowing one of the smaller, commercial only temporary channels to permit recreational boats 24\/7 transits. We got word of this on Tuesday, just 3 days before our planned visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing the remains of the bridge and the Dali up close added a new sense of the destruction of this immense structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recreational channel is under this last span. The green buoys mark the left side of the channel. The roadway seems to be precariously balancing on this support.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Dali is safely berthed at the cargo dock where it will be unloaded and then moved to Norfolk for repair. If you zoom in, you can still see parts of the roadway on the deck.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Bob and Tracy took a long walk to Ministry Brewery. The neighborhood was absolutely adorable with patio lighting across the sidewalks and chairs and tables set up outside for neighbor gatherings. The brewery is based in the former St. Michael\u2019s Church. Seemed a little weird to see vats of beer fermenting in the front. We did find it funny that we were walking into a church to have a beer and the chatter coming from inside were definitely church acoustics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed walking thru the small neighborhoods. There has certainly been a significant transition of these old working waterfront neighborhoods to shops and upscale apartments. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

More Visitors! When Mike and Noel found that we were less than 2 hours from their home in PA, they rushed over to enjoy the party.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mike and Noel were able to stay an extra day with us to further explore the area and enjoy the fine accommodations on Three Sons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
