Completing our cruise down the Rideau Canal, Three Sons docked at Confederation Marina to explore the city of Kingston and prepare for our the next leg our journey, the Trent Severn Canal. The marina is in the heart of downtown Kingston and give us a great jumping point to take it all in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We docked at Confederation Basin Marina with about 14 other Looper Boats. Not sure what they heard about Three Sons but we were on the very last dock in this very big marina. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Camelot, Lady Z and Sweet Equity enjoyed a wonderful meal and great conversation at the The Keg.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What started has a very small blood blister on Tracy’s finger developed into a large puss pocket with a red ring. After chatting with some locals, we decided to visit the urgent care at the local hospital and was told to be first in line in the AM because they close when they are filled and ‘you do not want to go to the ER, you will be there for days.’ We arrived 30 minutes before they opened to find we were 12th in line. However, kudos to the Canadian Medical Structure. Once the doors opened, we were walking back out in 100 minutes with a drained sore and script. The cause—we deducted a spider bite. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Since the Lasalle Bridge is not over the water, the city offers free water taxis over to Point Henry. Of course, we enjoyed a beer at the pop up brewery on the dock while waiting for the taxi. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Although we missed the last tour of Fort Henry, we enjoyed a leisurely walk around the outside. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Kim and Andy, we enjoyed a day on the Hop On Hop Off Trolley and took in all the sights. We did lots of Hopping Off and explored Canada’s Penitentiary Museum, the Murney Tower Museum, and the Great Lakes Museum. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
