Covered Portage was the perfect way to spend our first day in the North Channel. As advertised, this anchorage was secluded, with clear(ish) water, surrounded by high granite walls and tall pines. Absolutely stunning in all directions from the water to the sky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The anchorage was a little crowded, so we chose to anchor Three Sons in the last remaining pretty large area so that our buddy boats, Ship Faced and Sweet Equity could tie along side us for the night. Next order of business, was a swim call. The water was a little cold at first, but quickly became very comfortable and we lounged in the water until we needed to get ready for Docktails (decktails actually) on Sweet Equity. Working together we organized a lovely spread (that equaled dinner) of Brats, caprese salad, nuts, vegetables and hummus and of course M&M’s. Lots of laughs and fun stories were shared until we retired to our respective bows for some star gazing. Just when we thought it could not get any better, we found this anchorage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, we took our dinghies to shore to hike up the granite cliff overlooking the bay. It was a moderately challenging hike as we had to climb many rocks to ascend to the cliffside. From the top we found a few more viewpoints to explore and extend the hike. When we got back, we had another dip in the refreshing water before packing up to head to Killarney Mountain Lodge for 2 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
