<\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\nWe ended our final weeks in Georgetown with two sets of back to back visitors that overlapped for a day! Sharing our cruising lifestyle with friends from home was an absolute joy. The weather was perfect and we were able to take both our visitors on a cruise. We took the first set of visitors on a cruise around Stocking Island giving the boys some time to fish in the Exuma Bank, unfortunately nothing was caught. We picked up a ball in Redshank Cay and enjoyed some dingy exploration and time at the Man of War Cay Sand Bar. Our attempt at the Lazy River was fouled with the low tide so we just sat in the dingy enjoying beverages waiting for the tide to rise and float the dinghy. It was a beautiful night of still water and absolutely no noise, a stark comparison to Georgetown just a few miles away. The second set of visitors we returned to Red Shanks for a day hook and had beach time at Man of Way Cay Sand Bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The beaches on Stocking Island are by far some of the most beautiful we have seen. However, we wanted to try a different place so, we rented a car and took the 30 minute drive down Queens Highway (the only road) in Georgetown, a pothole\/crater filled road. The drive felt like a Disney ride ‘avoid the holes in the road.’ The Tropic of Cancer Beach did not disappoint. It was amazing, a graceful crescent of white-powder sand bordering the translucent blue-green water along the coast of Little Exuma. The beach is named after the meridian line that defines the northern extent of the tropics and crosses right through it. We enjoyed beach time and lunch from the hut on the beach. Before heading home we continued south and then took a ride to Santana’s for a drink and Mommy’s Bakery for more bread. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rest of the week was spent exploring, dinghy riding, beaching, hiking, bocce playing, Beatles concert on the beach, pitch and lots of great conversations and laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When our second set of visitors arrived, Mother Nature kicked up some wind and Peace and Plenty was not able to taxi them to the Stocking Island side. So we found a spot at the Exuma Yacht Club and taxied Three Sons over to Georgetown. They were quite surprised when we walked into Peace and Plenty and saw them sitting at the pool bar. Their visit continued with great weather which helped with our night time dingy riding.
