Nautical Miles Traveled – 10,789
Ports Visited/Stops – 287
Locks – 158
Breweries Visited – 164

We traveled 7,353 Nautical Miles in 494 days (aka: 16.2 months/70.5 weeks,) while visiting 3 countries, 2 provinces and 17 states. We used 3,180 gallons on fuel and moved up or down in 158 locks. In a quest to have fun, be healthy and see more we bikes over 500 miles and visited 164 breweries. A not so fun stat is 2 ER visits in which one lead to an overnight hospital stay. Here is where we spent our nights: 82 (16%) on anchor, 285 (58%) tied to a dock, 50 (10%) on a mooring ball, 26 (5%) on the hard and 51 (10%) off the boat/road tripping – hotel stays or one of the boys houses! The trip was filled with countless memories, belly laughs, inspiring moments, daily learning opportunities and an occasional challenge.

About Us

We are Tracy and Bob Oliveira from Dartmouth, MA. We have three wonderful sons: Zachary, Jacob, and Cory; thus the name for our boat. As we closed out our careers and our boys crafted their own, we decided we needed something to do with our time. After working our way up from an 18′ center console, we arrived at the Three Sons, a 1990 Grand Banks Motoryacht.  It was the perfect fit for us as it provides lots of space to live comfortably for long periods of time, and also accommodates our boys and other guests along the way. Being a 32+ year old boat, it also provides us with endless projects to occupy our free time as we travel.

Our plans are inspired for our desire for warm weather, spontaneous fun, exploring new places and adventure of new experiences. A goal is to complete the Great Loop but we traveled down the East Coast in the fall of 2022 calling it our “practice run.” We migrated back north in the spring of 2023 and spent the summer in Massachusetts with family and friends. The fall of 2023 we are once again traveling down the East Coast, starting our Great Loop Adventure.

On January 21, 2025, we crossed our wake completing America’s Great Loop! What started as an adventure is now leading us to a lifestyle of cruising. We will continue cruising down to the Keys, a trip to the Bahamas for the winter and a slow ride up the east coast in the spring to be home for the summer land living and New England cruising.
