Leaving Westport, our homeport, was bittersweet. We are excited for the adventure in front of us but will truly miss our family and friends. Our initial departure was delayed due to Hurricane Lee. We were happy to wait out the storm in a safe setting. We left Westport on Sunday, September 17 and headed to Fisher’s Island New York where we dropped the anchor for the night. On Monday, the weather was rain all day, but with light winds and calm seas. So, even though we have no where to go or be, we decided for a long cruise across the Long Island Sound to Port Washington.

  • Westport, MA to Fisher’s Island – September 17th
    • Traveled across Rhode Island Sound for 7 hours 41 min, 49 Nautical Miles
    • Picked up a mooring at Fisher’s Island Yacht Club, which was empty, peaceful, calm
  • Fisher’s Island, NY to Port Washington, NY, September 18th
    • Traveled across Long Island Sound for 11 hours 39 min, 87.8 Nautical Miles
    • Picked up a mooring at Manhasset Bay
