Lots of moving parts over the last week. Zachary flew to Charleston, spent a day with both of us then Tracy flew to MA for the annual Fall Lane Girls Weekend while Zach and Bob cruised to Savannah. The 3 day cruise to Savannah with Zach was a first without the first mate (aka Admiral Tracy). Zach stepped in to do it all including lots of time at the wheel, anchoring, and working lines and fenders as we approached Savannah. Zach got to experience the isolated life on the hook, a mooring in Beaufort where we could dinghy to town for a walk and some pizza, and dock life in Savannah with several other cruisers heading in all directions. He also lent his hand in the galley and helped with some boat projects. Tracy flew back south to Savannah, enjoyed a few days with Zach before he returned to realty.
A new autopilot was installed in Tracy’s absence and even more old wires pulled out of and off the boat.Bob and Zach took a trip to the Patriots Point Naval Maritime Museum and toured the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier and the destroyer USS Laffey.Love cruising but so miss my squad. So much fun catching up at the Sea Crest and well worth the flight and packing.A special visit from a friend who crashed the scrapbook breakfast!Tracy was only in Dartmouth for a few hours but filled her time visiting so many loved ones! So overcome with joy, she only took one picture. We were totally amazed how much we learned at the Prohibition Museum in downtown Savannah. Walking through a speakeasy, we discovered the impact and influence still from the prohibition. Two Tides Brewery is a small brewery located on the second floor of a 100 year old house. A low key indoor brewery with lots of small rooms and a balcony. At $15.00 a pour, Deluxe Memory a delicious Imperial Stout deserved a photo. (Nope, did not look at the price before ordering.)
