We planned an easy 5 Nautical Mile cruise from Lock 8 to Campbellford that took just over 2 hours. In this short distance, Three Sons was lifted 88 feet over 4 locks. One lock was a double lock which means when you pass through one you go directly into the next. It makes things a little easier when one door is the back of one lock and front of the next.

A gorgeous day and route
Double Lock Haley Falls had a touch of a Jurassic Park feel
Three Sons parked right next to the giant tonnie in Old Mill Park
The 300-foot long Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge provided picturesque views as you could feel it sway slightly below your feet.
Not sure exactly how this happened but score 1 for the bike and Tracy 0! Somehow, Tracy flipped over the handlebars of her bike. Bob heard the crash via the Bluetooth bike helmets and ran up the hill finding Tracy in the middle of the road and her bike in a heap. A volunteer fireman had seen the crash in his rear view mirror and turned around to help. Luckily, the bike helmet took much of the impact. Along with being very sore, Tracy ended up with road rash on her face, elbows, knees, knuckles and arms. Moral of this story is ALWAYS wear a bike helmet!
We were very close to this brewery when the bike accident happened. Walking in Bob asked for ice and the bar tended said “sorry, we don’t have any,” then he looked at Tracy and replied “oh no, let me find you something.” He managed to gather a small bag of ice, first aid kit and a beer. Although Tracy struggled to drink the beer she was soon all cleaned up.
Knowing you need to ‘get back on the horse,’ we decided to go our for a bike ride. We ventured off to Westben, where the motto is to connect music and nature, to see a concert. It was a great, sunny afternoon listening to live music in a gorgeous setting. The grounds are very well maintained and just a nice chill vibe. Thankfully the bike ride was uneventful and Tracy feel OK being back on the bike.
Docktails on the west bank of the Campbellford wall!
Special thanks to Lady Z for a wonderful Lasagna dinner!
