Fort Myers, FL

After crossing under the the Sanibel Island Causeway, we had officially crossed our wake. We put Three Sons in neutral celebrated and snapped some photos. It was probably the coldest day we have had in the last 16 months! Next, we continued cruising to Ft. Myers Matanzas Pass and picked up a mooring ball.

Unfortunately, we ran over a crab pot during our travels. Unbeknownst to us, our buddy boat had found a diver to come check out their hull after a very loud bump. We contacted the diver and he happily agreed to dive our props. Once we got settled, Mike dinghy’d the diver over to Three Sons when he was done with Jamin. Luckily for both of us, he found nothing wrong with Jamin’s hull and pulled a 10 foot rope off our port prop.

Steven poses with the rope pulled from our prop!

The devastation from Hurricane Ian is still heartbreaking almost 2 years later.

We decided to move Three Sons to a dock to plug in for some heat and a battery recharge. After some back and forth with dockage, we cruised the one mile over to Moss Marina at Fort Myers Beach. Definitely, not a fancy marina but more a boat yard, but still one the most expensive marinas! Location, Location, Location.

We decided to walk to a breakfast place but upon arrival learned that they were closed ‘due to the cold.’ So, we went to Wahoo Willies and had some celebratory drinks. Soon, Ship Faced joined us and what started as breakfast turned to a party, dinner at Yucatan and popping Champagne on Three Sons
