Where, When and How — The Stats

Leg 1: Tuesday, April 15, 2025: Old Bahama Bay, Grand Bahama Island to Fort Pierce, Florida via the Atlantic Ocean, Cruising Time 10 hours 30 minutes, Distance 87.4 Nautical Miles

Calm Seas and Sunshine – The Good

  • WOW! Surprise Time! As Three Sons was maneuvering the fairways of Pierce City Marina to find our slip, Tracy saw a woman standing on the bow of a boat enthusiastically waving. Looking again, she whispered into the marriage savers, who is that? And then it hit her – Theresa was standing on Ship Faced! Screaming could be heard across the state of FL.
  • We were reunited with our 4 buddy boats and a night on the town followed. A visit to a brewery, filled with shenanigans but no arrest, started the evening and it ending with drinks on Three Sons.
  • Very few times in life are you truly surprised and emotional touched! I was beyond shocked to see them still in Florida. They stayed to see us one last time and to say the least, our hearts were full.

Strong Winds and Currents – The Not So Good

  • The next morning we said “see ya later’ to Ship Faced!
  • We had intended to only stay one day in Ft. Pierce but with our surprise we added a day to recuperate. We made the best of the day going slow, had some groceries delivered, did some route planning, walking to explore the area and visited a marine supply store.
