Three Sons needed some love and attention so off to a boat yard we went!
Bock Marina was great! Easy to deal with, quick work and fair prices. Within an hour of arriving they had us on the travel lift and we were getting blocked. We were quite happy with the condition of our bottom, not much peeling paint and no barnacles.

Beautiful, balanced and polished props for Three Sons

Next, painted up props to keep the barnacles off and help speed up a bit.

The joy of a rental car! Tracy got to stop at two favorites that she has not seen in months-months!

A so, so brewery in Moorehead City. Nacho Brewery had good beer, no food, and a so-so vibe. We broke our rule of not strip mall breweries, so not sure what we expected.

Captain Bob gave Three Sons a nice new bottom coat of paint.

The joy of ‘staying on the hard’ is a ladder to get on and off the boat along with squeezing between the transom and dingy.

Both engines needed some loving after 30 plus years of working. New motor mounts were put on both engines and then the shafts were realigned. As a result, smooth sailing and no vibrations!

Shane, a fabulous diesel mechanic from Bock, spend three days in the engine room giving both engines some lovin’!

Not a bad stay but happy to back away back into the ICW!

We left the boat yard at 4:00 PM so, we took a quick 90 minute cruise up Adams Creek and dropped the hook for the night. We got a great sunset and sunrise before picking up the anchor and cruising across the Neuse River.

We were hoping to take a side trip with the boat over to New Bern to stay for a few days and check out the area. With Three Sons on the hard and having a rental, we drove over for a day. Super cute town, tons of restaurants and shops and a few breweries. One day was not enough, we will be back!
