It is true, Georgia is beyond beautiful but the ICW is full of twist and turns. After pulling up the anchor from the little creek off the ICW, we traveled 3.5 hours – 25 NM to Thunderbolt Marina. Once again, our intentions did not formulate to what actually happened. We were going to spend two days in Savanah but stayed 6 due to high winds. We were tucked into a safe slip at a wonderful marina, near a great city, that had a courtesy car, and tons of other looper boats, so we decided to stay put and ride out the wind. We capitalized on the delay and replaced a water pump on one of the engines. We were sad that the delay meant skipping Charleston and our visit with the Marchs.

Docktails at Thunderbolt, lots of laughs, cocktails, swapping of tales and learning!
We stayed at Thunderbolt Marina at the recommendation of Saving Grace. So glad we did, great place and had many nights filled with laughs at docktails
A bike ride to Savanah’s Riverwalk District was well worth the pedaling to enjoy the views, shopping and refreshments. Yes, we walked our bikes down the steep hill, cobblestone alley leading to River St.
On day two of touring Savannah we visited Forsyth Park, took a comedy trolley tour, walked around every cobblestoned square, enjoyed the amazing architecture, found a brewery (or two) and had the best shrimp and grits dinner at Crystal Beer Parlor.
The Savanah for Morons Trolley Comedy Tour was hysterical! Not sure how much we learned about history but boy did we laugh!
Day three we toured Savanah with Soul Shine and Vamonos. So many laughs and so much fun with a trolley tour, the best ice cream ever for breakfast, daiquiris to go at Wet Willies, lunch at Dub’s Public House, and a visit to Service Brewing Company.
It is not all fun and games, Bob replaced the port engine water pump and changed the oil in both engines.
