Cruising from Albemarle Plantation to Elizabeth City should have been an easy 35NM cruise across the sound and up Pasquotank River. However, a broken dingy davit in the middle of the Albemarle Sound made for some trouble. We were able to recover the dingy and pull the engine up and resecure everything. Once docked, the work of fixing the dingy, engine and davits started. We docked behind Jeanette Brother Food Distributors. They offer free docks if you eat at one of the restaurants in the community. No problem with that great deal! Due to rainy weather, we did not get to explore Elizabeth City but they did have two breweries and a couple of great restaurants within a tenth of mile from our dock.
