It was a beautiful, peaceful day cruising north west to Solomans on the Chesapeake Bay for 42 NM / 5.5 hours. We are making a effort to not stop at the same place twice. This is our second stop at Solomons so we decided instead of touring we should be responsible. So, once we arrived at the Calvert’s Marina, we scraped some teak, adjusted the throttle controls, did some laundry on the boat and got caught up with the blog. After chores, we walked to a brewery (that we missed the first time) for dinner and drinks.

Of course, we enjoy visiting breweries for the beer tasting but we also enjoy the atmosphere and folks we meet. Checking out the venues and hearing the stories of how the breweries started is just as much fun as sampling the beers. We especially enjoy the outdoor spaces, games and activities and live music. Ruddy Duck Brewery had a great story of how it began and some good beer but the atmosphere was a restaurant, not our style. Instead of walking back we called “Randy the marina uber” and so glad we got a chance to meet and chat with this local. The ride cost $5.00, “He does it for the company not the money!”

YUP, the teak needs some attention! Can’t wait for the after picture.
Ruddy Duck Brewery, surprisingly my favorite was a Honey Mango IPA
