Read More »Sprint Home to MAThree Sons cruised across the Chesapeake Bay in calm waters and with joyful hearts. We were headed for Annapolis where we would meet up with Bob’s mother, who flew into BWI from Providence and Bob’s sister, who flew into BWI from New Orleans. They met in the airport and ubered over to Annapolis Yacht Marina where they moved onboard and settled in.

After leaving Deltaville, we took a short trip north to Reedville, VA. This was a perfect trip as we got to see a new town and only needed to travel a few hours as the weather wasn’t predicted to be too good for cruising.
Read More »Exploring Small Towns on the Chesapeake BayCruising south in the Chesapeake has been beyond beautiful! Conditions have been suburb, sunny, no wind, still water and currents going our way. When we pulled into Rock Hall, we saw some strange orange buoys and very large yellow triangle floats. We said, “That is strange” and went about docking on their free wall.
Read More »Rock Hall and Kent Island, MDDaily, actually multiple times a day, we check the weather, winds, tides and currents using 4-5 different Apps. Also, discussions on the docks usually involve all things weather. On day two, we traveled a very long day in the rain across Long Island Sound to get ahead of the forecasted bad weather. This enabled us to take advantage of small weather windows to keep moving south. This probably put us about two weeks ahead of folks who were only one day behind us. We continue to hear reports of folks stuck between Port Washington and Atlantic Highlands due to impassable weather conditions. In our planning to leave Cape May, we once again saw one day to move or we would probably be stuck waiting for a weather shift.

Spent a week exploring the Chesapeake Bay! Barely scratched the surface visiting 4 ports. We are going to move on to get to warmer weather. Plan to spent lots of time here the the Spring.
