Cruising to the Abacos

Cruising to the Abacos but first a wonderful stop at Egg Island.

We decided to leave Spanish Wells and stage for our crossing to the Abaco Islands at Egg Island. Leaving Spanish Wells had a tricky channel and narrow cut so we went south west to prevent some roadblocks. Our night anchored off Egg Island was relaxing and beautiful. We took the mile and half dingy ride over to a sandbar that had swings and resident Rays. We took a walk on a nearby beach and gathered fire wood. After dinner on the boat, we enjoyed a beach fire and bottle of wine.

The next morning, we picked up the anchor and took the long, rollie cruise across the ocean to the Abacos. We dropped anchor outside of Little Harbor and had dinner at the famous Pete’s Pub and Gallery.
