Read More »Grand Bahama IslandAfter dropping Zach off at the airport, we returned to Three Sons and started the engines. Our next destination was Green Turtle Cay, but between here and there, we needed to time the transit through Whale Cut. Since slack tide was at 7AM and we did not want to travel in the dark, our strategy was to leave Marsh Harbor and spent the night on anchor off the north coast of Great Guana Cay.

A small bridge connects it to Russell Island which is a bit longer at three miles. There are about 1600 people who call this unassuming island community home.

Read More »Governor’s Harbor, EleutheraWe had planned to explore the Exuma Island chain for a few more days but with upcoming wind we decided to head over to Eleuthera a few days early. It was a beautiful, calm 37 Nautical Mile cruise across the Exuma Bank to south west corner of Eleuthera. Along with our buddy boats, we docked at Cape Eleuthera Resort and Marina to escape the incoming weather.

This is one event organized by cruisers during a two week fundraiser in which monies raised are donated to local charities to benefit Bahamians.

Read More »Staniel Cay, ExumaWarderick Wells Cay is one of the most beautiful locations we have encountered on our journey. It was one of our favorites last year and our memories served correctly, that this place is beyond special. The views are absolutely spectacular, both from the water and from the hiking trails throughout the island. We enjoyed walking along the beaches, sandbars, hiking the trails and snorkeling. The water is breathtakingly beautiful with the most vibrant shades of blues and greens.
