We had planned to explore the Exuma Island chain for a few more days but with upcoming wind we decided to head over to Eleuthera a few days early. It was a beautiful, calm 37 Nautical Mile cruise across the Exuma Bank to south west corner of Eleuthera. Along with our buddy boats, we docked at Cape Eleuthera Resort and Marina to escape the incoming weather.

Once the boats were settled, the next order of business for the day, was some cocktails and conversation by the pool. After dinner on the boat, we ended back on the beach for a gorgeous sunset.

Day 2 was spent renting a side by side and touring the south end of Eleuthera. The new Disney resort was under lock and key even though security guard was super cool, we were not getting in. We visited the beautiful but empty Lighthouse Beach, absolutely stunning! Traveling via the ATV, we cruised by several settlements. They were very small, just a few building and houses but each had a church. Stopping at Princess Cay was a treat, the cruise ship had already taken in the last group of guest and gates were closed. The tiny village of shops were just closing up but we still managed to grab a shirt. We found a beach bar that was closed but having packed snacks and beers, we made ourselves at home and enjoyed one their tables. A few times, we had to hold on tight with Steven’s driving and he may or may not of told us about the restrictions of driving on the road. Let’s just say we were known as the ‘naughty guests’ upon our return. We ended the night with pizza and live music at the outdoor bar.

Our third day at Cape Eleuthera was restful! We did a few chores, went on a dingy ride, sat on the beach, played cards and enjoyed a nice dinner at the marina/resort restaurant.
