Today, our first lock E23 on the Erie Canal and that concludes are travels on that canal. We turned north to start our journey through the the Oswego Canal. After 5.5 hour and 6 locks we arrived in Oswego, NY to stage for our first encounter with a Great Lake. Tomorrow the weather is predicted to be smooth, so we will cross Lake Ontario.

We docked on the free wall in-between locks 7 and 8 on the Oswego canal. It was a short walk into town over the bridge. We had a busy, fun night. We explored main street and a cool Farmer’s Market, had a drink at a roof top bar with fellow loopers, and had a visitor! It would have been nice to stay one more day to check out more of the area, However, with a good weather window to cross, off we go!

Oswego hosts a Thursday night Farmers Market where they close the street and cater to small business.
Bob used to do some work in the this area, so a friend and his son stopped in for a visit!
After a few weeks of buddy boating with Camelot and Lazy Z, we parted ways but will hopefully meet up again soon.
