Colonel By Island, Canada

Not much here except a little dock, a few mooring balls, a fire pit, and path through the woods. The peace, quiet and surreal feeling was probably the best on this side trip. We did not read about this place in any of our many books, but discovered this gem by chatting with some locals.

Just a gorgeous cruise, some of the most beautiful scenery on the Rideau Canal.
WOW! We just love swimming in the fresh water!
A nice path around the island for a walk but we ended up power walking to try to get away from the bugs!
Docktales on the bridge of Camelot
Day 2 enjoying the water toys and resting
Time for some chores – getting rid of the Three Sons mustache
Let’s use a expired flare to practice lighting and help to start the fire. Oops, it was a wrong type (a smoke one) of flare.
Even with wet wood, no paper and colored flares, we got the fire going. It was just a beautiful backdrop for a campfire..
Smores for the win!
The next morning!
