Carolina Beach far exceeded our expectations and will go on the ‘to return’ list. We picked up a mooring ball at Carolina Beach Marina and Mooring Field. Snow’s Cut Channel had some shallow spots, but Carolina Beach Harbor is directly off the ICW and is well marked and very easy to manage. The beach is huge, nice sand and great surf along with being easily accessible from the dingy dock. Next time we will stay a few days and bring chairs to the beach to enjoy fully. Our hunt for unique places brought us to the The Fat Pelican. A small dive bar with the most incredible set up. No menu, just a walk in cooler with 400 beers stacked up on shelves. You walk through the plastic and pick your beer, then give it to the bar tender to open! So many beers made for tough decisions but a fun afternoon.
