Visitors!

The anticipation of our first visitor felt like we were 5 years old and waiting for Santa! When the cab pulled up, we jumped off our bar stools and gave the taxi driver a hug for delivering our people!

Chris and Paul were quickly acclimated to ‘boat life’ by getting drenched on the dinghy across the harbor to Three Sons. Thank goodness their luggage was waterproof. However, we had plenty of clips to dry things out. Soon after drying off, they got another taste of living on a boat by being rocked to sleep.

The week was filled with checking out gorgeous beaches, hikes, and dinners on the boat and land. Who can say they went on vacation and they only transportation they used was a dinghy! We even had lunch in the dinghy one day after exploring a uninhabited cay with ruins (from the early 2000s). Valentine’s Day was celebrated at Chat N Chill but we missed the special rotisserie chicken dinner because they ran out. We attended Karaoke at Peace and Plenty and had dinner with fellow boaters and shared a water taxi to stay dry. We prepared them for the nursing home by listening to ‘the net’ at 8 AM every morning and cards and RummiKub at night.

True confessions, we had tears in our eyes saying goodbye! We love this life but truly miss our family and friends! Spending a week with them on Three Sons was priceless.

Boaters were treated to a ‘Rooftop Concert’ by other boaters on the anniversary of the famous Beatles rooftop concerts.
Not a typical Superbowl Sunday. We watched the game at the Kahari Resort with buckets of beer, a wonderful buffet and shots for touchdowns!
The Bahamas LOVE their swings!

Second Best, Jerry and Linda, joined us for cocktails at the Exuma Yacht Club.
Boaters ARG Meeting — ARG: Alcohol Research Group, where folks bring their research (favorite drinks) and share their findings.
We hiked up the harbor side of Stocking Island to the Salt Monument and down the ocean side. Salt Monument stands 200 feet above sea level and is the tallest point of the small three mile island. The 360 degree views from the top were spectacular.
From the top of Salt Monument, we could see our dinghy and beach chairs. Once again, we had the whole beautiful beach to ourselves. We did not realize at the time that the rocks actually spelt out the names of boats. Next time maybe, we will have the energy to spell out Three Sons before the hike up top.
