We spent 30 days in George Town, Exuma moored outside of Chat N Chill in Elizabeth Harbor. With the exception of spending the summer ‘on the Lane’ this is the longest time we have stayed in one place since retiring 16 months ago. Thrilled beyond belief that for 14 of these days, Three Sons entertained guests. Our hope is that next year more peeps take the journey down south to enjoy the area with us. George Town is the furthest south Three Sons will travel. This location is about 1300 miles south of MA and 350 miles east of Havana, Cuba.
George Town is a very small town dwarfed by the flotilla of cruisers that are anchored in the harbor between the town and Stocking Island. Our last week here the count was 411 boats. The regulars report that is the highest number of boats in 20 years of keeping count. The community of boaters is quite the experience. There is always some activity happening but the special part is the support and encouragement from each other. We enjoyed meeting so many folks from such diverse backgrounds. We consider ourselves blessed to be able to spent a good chunk of time enjoying the company of others and exploring this area. God willing, we will definitely be back next year. Having said all that, our time has come — we are ready to move on.
Our final days moored in Elizabeth Harbor were filled with taking advantage of all the area and community has to offer. Tracy participated in the coconut challenge with Happy Now, BreeZeen, and Sienna Sun. We finally took the journey to Fowl Cay to snorkel with Nauti-Life. Moneypenny treated us to a delicious Low Country homemade shrimp and grits dinner. Sienna Sun and Second Best dinghied over to Three Sons for cocktails and we dinghied over to Victoria Harbor for water and some very expensive provisioning.

Coconut Challenge
One day of the Cruisers Regatta is filled with small boat races. Tracy joined three other ladies, calling themselves Girls with Nuts, participating in the Coconut Challenge. Thousands of coconuts are dumped into a small hurricane hole and the goal is for each team to collect as many coconuts as you can while staying inside a dingy. For the challenge, the engine and gas tank are removed from the dingy and the only propulsion that is used is a single fin per person. For an added challenge, you may dump buckets of water on the other teams and steal their coconuts. Folks on the shore said it was a hoot to watch. Being in the boat, Tracy learned paddling with a fin is not easy and water drenched coconuts stink. However, belly gut laughing while paddling with a fin and picking up coconuts, along with being drenched with water was incredible fun. We laughed more than picked up coconuts, scoring 67 while the winning team gathered 201.

Chat N Chill
We spent lots of time at Chat N Chill relaxing, socializing and watching the area rays.
